Behaviors that lead to new untrained behaviors
Pivotal behaviors
Behaviors that allow the learner to contact new reinforcers or additional parts of the environment
Behavior cusps
Anything an organism does
Behavior
A single instance of a behavior
Response
A group or set of responses that serve the same function
Response class
A change in the environment that evokes a functional reaction
Stimulus
A group or set up stimuli that share similar characteristics
Stimulus class
There are four types of stimulus class
Physical/formal/feature
Functional
Temporal
Arbitrary
Asking a client to perform a task to assess whether they can perform the task
Probing
Respondent conditioning
Operant conditioning
A stimulus presented following or response or behavior that will increase that response in the future
Positive reinforcement
A stimulus removed following a response that will increase that response in the future
Negative reinforcement
A stimulus is added, following or response that will decrease that response
Positive punishment
A stimulus removed following a response that will decrease that response
Negative punishment
If/then statement
Contingency
Produce consequences without needing another individual to change the environment
Automatic/sensory
Consequences delivered through another individual
Socially mediated
Primary reinforcers no learning history needed
Ex. Food, water, sleep.
Unconditioned reinforcement
A neutral stimulate that becomes a reinforcer through learning
Ex. Token boards, money.
Conditioned reinforcement
Reinforce her that has been impaired with another reinforcers and can be used in a variety of contexts
Ex. Social praise and attention.
Generalized reinforcer
Primary punishers no history needed
Ex. Pain, excessive heat, electric shock.
Unconditioned punishment
A neutral stimulate that becomes a punisher through learning
Ex. Time out, reprimands.
Unconditioned punishment
A punisher that has been paired with another punishers and can be used in a variety of context
Generalized punisher
