What does the “DES NOW” prompt do in the FMC?
A
When we push, the aircraft will use a descent speed as if it reached the Top of Descent point. If we do not use this prompt, and we start descending more than 50NM from the T/D, then the descent speed will be the ECON cruise speed of the Flight Level we are descending to.
