You learnt in Topic 10 that the energy in food is a form of stored energy.
Your body will use that energy when
you need to move, run, walk, or when you need to be kept warm.

energy.
If the switch on the torch is off, the bulb does
not shine.
When the switch is on, the store of energy,
the chemicals, produces energy which makes the bulb shine.

- Stretch the elastic band and pull it around your
thumb as shown in Picture C.
When you stretch or twist an elastic band, you are
‘loading’ it with energy.
In other words, you are giving
a store of energy.
This store of energy can be used to make something work.
