Texture Definition

A

Texture is the way an object feels or is perceived to feel. Texture can generate interest or repel interest based on the quality of the texture. Texture can also create powerful emotions due to familiar context and memory, much like smell.

Implied textures are visual representations of textures (like you might see in a videogame, i.e. painted fur).

A

Rough: Textures that reflect light unevenly.

Smooth: Textures that reflect light evenly.

Matte: Textures that reflect small amounts of dull, soft light.

Shiny: Textures that reflect brilliant, strong light.
