What does a file server do?
Stores files and allows clients to retrieve them when requested
What does a printer server do?
Queues print jobs and sends them to the correct printer
What does an email server do?
Filters spam and sends emails so they can be retrieved by clients
What is web hosting?
Storing a website and its files on a web server so it can be accessed on the Internet
What is a domain name?
A human-readable address used to access a website (e.g. csnewbs)
Why must a domain name be registered?
To ensure it is unique
What is DNS?
The Domain Name System that maps domain names to IP addresses
Why is DNS needed?
To translate domain names into IP addresses so browsers can locate websites
