• keep SaO2 > 90%
• ensure organ function (e.g. urine output)
• keep systolic pressure > 90 mmHg
• Keep Mean Arterial Pressure > 60mmHg
• conservative fluid management

Mild ARDS

• low tidal volume ventilation (6 ml/kg)

Moderate ARDS

• adjust PEEP and FiO2 to maintain PaO2 > 55mmHg

• prone ventilation (increase SA for gas exchange)
