- October: german sailors based in Kiel refuse to follow orders. News of their mutiny begins to spread to other german ports and towns
- November: Germany is now fighting alone after the surrender of its allies. The german emporer abdicates. The government that replaces him for an armistice (ceasefire) which begins at 11am on the 11th of November
