What are the three types of muscle tissue and the functions of them. What are the differences.
- Skeletal muscle tissue- runs along bones to help move bones by contracting. They are striated muscle tissue.
- myocardial tissue (cardiac muscle)- runs along the heart and allows the heart to contract and beat to circulate blood. This is also striated muscle tissue.
- Smooth muscle tissue- this runs along places like the digestive system where it doesn’t need fast twitch muscle like skeletal and myocardial tissue. This muscle looks smooth and woven into itself. It is good at doing slow, sweeping movements and contractions.

Where is epithelial tissue found? What is its structure?
Epithelial tissue lines all organs and also our whole bodies as skin. They are tightly packed cells which create a watertight barrier.
Where are nerve cells. What are their functions and structure.
Nerve cells are found in the brain, spinal cord, and at branches of nerves under skin and throughout muscles, tissues, and organs. They transmit electrical signals to and from the brain to different tissues. They allow us to do voluntary and involuntary movements. They look like matrices of nerve cell bundles, with a central section which branches off to smaller, thinner parts.

Cerebrospinal fluid surrounds the brain and spinal cord to cushion it and protect it from injury. It also transports chemicals, and removes waste produced in the brain.

CNS consists of your brain and spinal cord. It is the large pathway between your brain and the rest of your body.

PNS is the peripheral nervous system. It includes nerves that branch off from the CNS.
