As the 110 volt supply needs to be DC, it is passed through a rectifier which changes it from alternating current (A.C.) to direct current (D.C.)

Motor alternator failure Class 455
If the MA fails and the battery takes over, how many volts does it need to drop below before the unit cuts out?
Motor alternator failure Class 455
If the MA fails, the batteries will take over but will only supply 110 DC volts for the control circuits and emergency lighting. When the battery voltage drops below 80 volts the unit will automatically cut out.
If this happens, assistance will be required whereupon after coupling up all the pipes and jumpers, you will need to cut the defective unit in again using the aux set button on the good unit.
