Once the frame has been fabricated and returned, what should you check?

Before trial insertion:

• Do not distort when removing/replacing onto cast
• Closeness of fit to working cast
• Check frame conforms to specifications
• Adequately finished
• No sharp/rough edges
• Appropriate thickness

Trial in patient’s mouth:

• Should seat perfectly under firm pressure
• Ensure rests seat correctly
• Major connectors closely adapted to teeth
• Clasps retentive
• No components of denture interfere with opposing teeth in centric or eccentric positions

What does it mean if the frame fits the workign cast but not the patient?

Answer 2

• Impression distorted
• Master cast inaccurate
• Teeth have moved
