Pathophysiology

A

Flexor tendons pass thought shealths along length of fingers (tunnels)
In trigger finger thickening of tendon or tightening of sheath preventing the tnedon from smoothly moving through sheath when finger is flexed and extended, causing pain and stiffness

CLINICAL FEATURES

Presentation

A

Troublesome finger that
- Is painful and tender, usually around MCP joint on palm side
- Does not move smoothly
- Makes popping or clicking sound
- Gets stuck in flexed position
Symptoms typically worse in morning and improve during day
