Ways media can contribute to exploitation
-the media can objectify and sexualise individuals, particularly women by painting the, to look desirable
-social media can exploit children who are vulnerable to being groomed
-lack of representation of certain demographics of people, eg same sex couple are a minority in tv shows
-women are often paid unequal to men in the media
-catfishing, where people pretend to be other people to take advantage of another person
-pornography, can create false expectations of other of the genders during it
-sponsorship/influencers, influencing getting paid to influence you to buy products that you probably don’t even need
Religious views on exploitation - Christianity
-media should reflect values if truth, dignity and respect p
-exploiting people for entertainment goes against the Christians teaching (Genesis 1, in Gods image and likeness)
-some criticise media for promoting greed, violence or immorality
-sex is a gift from gods so it should be done respectfully and faithfully so sex trafficking is is an abuse of this gift
-some use media for promoting positive messages, energy and challenge
Non - Relegious views on exploitation - Humanism
-media should be free, honest and respectful
-support media literacy and critical thinking
-Believe in Redon of expression, but not at the fist of human dignity
-oppose stereotyping and exploiting in advertising, news and entertainment
