First method for diffusion experiments with the agar cube

Answer 1

1. Collect Petri dishes containing agar with pre-cut holes in the surface.
2. Place 2–3 drops of solution A into the pre-cut hole in the first plate,
   being careful not to spill the dye or let it overflow onto the surface of
   the agar.
3. Place 2–3 drops of solution B into the pre-cut hole in the second plate,
   being careful not to spill the dye or let it overflow onto the surface of
   the agar.
4. Start the stopwatch.
5. After a fixed time measure the distance (in mm) each dye has travelled
   in the agar.
6. Measure diameter of circle made by dye.
7. Repeat the experiment to get a mean.
