Q

How to add vectors?

A

Just add the 2 top numbers together to get the x axis movement
And add the 2 bottom numbers together to get the y axis movement

Q

How to subtract vectors?

A

Same as addition just subtract instead
So…
Subtract the top numbers
subtract the bottom numbers

Q

In quadrilaterals if u know 3 of the points and their vectors, how would u work out the last one?

A

U can check the vectors of 2 of the points and use the same for the third one

Q

How to know if a vector is parallel to another?

A

They have a common factor
Eg. (1) is parallel to (6)
(2) (12)

It can also be a negative number or a decimal

Q

What to say to prove that a vector is collinear?

A

1) Must be parallel (have a factor that can multiply to make the other eg. (2) and (4) (because u can multiply
(4) (8)
The Top and bottom by 2))

2) must have a common point like AB and AC have a common point

Q

What’s the difference if u write just the letters of a line (eg. AB) rather than AB with an arrow at the top?

A

The first one is just the length of the line
The arrow at the top shows it’s a vector

Q

If a vector written algebraically is in fractions and then you need to add it to a whole (letter) how would u add them?
Eg. 1/2a + a

A

You pretend the letter is the whole of the fraction
Eg. a in this context is 2/2 so 1/2 + 2/2 = 3/2
