Gerunds
A form that is derived from a verb but that functions as a noun, ending in -ing (asking; do you mind my asking you?)
Participles
A word formed from a verb (going, gone, being, been) and used as an adjective ( working woman, burned toast) or a noun (good breeding). In English, participles are also used to make compound verb forms (is going, has been)
Infinitives
The basic form of a verb, without an inflection binding it to a particular subject or tense (see; we came to see, let him see)
