6-7: Huck endures pap’s abuse and eventually fakes his own death, fleeing to Jackson’s island

Ch8-11: Jackson’s island and meeting Jim

Chapter 8: On Jackson’s Island, Huck encounters Jim, Miss Watson’s enslaved person, who has run away upon hearing he might be sold. They decide to travel together.​
Chapter 9: They discover a floating house with a dead man inside; Jim prevents Huck from seeing the corpse.​
Chapter 10: Huck disguises himself as a girl to gather information in town.​ In the town he meets Judith Luftus. Judith eventually figures out he’s a boy but huck stays undercover
Chapter 11: Huck learns that people believe Jim killed him and that there’s a reward for Jim’s capture. Huck returns to Jackon’s island and flees with Jim

Ch 12- 16: adventures on the river

Chapters 12–13: Huck and Jim encounter a wrecked steamboat with robbers aboard. They escape with the robbers’ loot.​
Chapter 14: They discuss kings and royalty, highlighting their differing worldviews.​
Chapter 15: Huck plays a trick on Jim, making him think their separation in the fog was a dream. Jim’s hurt feelings lead Huck to apologize, marking a moral growth.​ loads of cognitive dissonance.
Chapter 16: Jim tells Huck how he is planning to free his family, and Huck feels guilty and wants to give Jim at shore. When Jim tells him he is his only friend, he feels unsure. They miss the mouth of the Ohio River, which would have led them to free states, and continue south encountering a storm.​

Ch17-18: the grangerfords and shepherdsons

Chapter 17: Huck is taken in by the Grangerford family after being separated from Jim in an accident with the raft.
Chapter 18: He learns about the family’s feud with the Shepherdsons. There he meets Sophia, who after church asks him to go back and get her book (with a note to meet Harvey). He finds out that Jim is alive and well hiding out with other slaves. The feud escalates and many die, including Huck’s friend Buck. Huck reunites with Jim, and they escape.

Ch 19-30: the duke and the king

Chapters 19: Huck and Jim meet two con men who claim to be a duke and a king. They join Huck and Jim on the raft.​

Chapter 20: Huck and Jim treat the duke and dauphin like royalty. Going onshore after devising a money making plan, the king makes up a pity story to get people’s money. They print out a missing slave poster, so they can travel during the day, but Jim must remained tied up in the boat.

Chapters 21: the duke and dauphin go to an arkansas town with Huck to advertise their show. A drunk man (Boggs) threatens Colonel Sherburn, and people laugh. Sherburn tells him to stop, and ultimately shoots him. The townspeople decide to hang him.

Chapter 22: Sherburn gets on his roof and tells the mob they are cowards and are too scared to take action. The mob breaks up and disperses. The shakespeare performance goes on, the duke and dauphin put posters advertising the royal nonesuch (no women or children)

Chapter 23: after the show, the mob doesn’t want to admit they were conned, and decide to sell out the show to the whole town. On the third night, they flee with the money. Huck and Jim speak of how they wish to be rid of them, and Jim opens up about his family.

Chapters 24: Jim doesn’t want to be tied up, and so they paint him blue and dress him as King Lear, with a sign that he is a sick arab and to stay away. They learn about the death of Peter Wilks, and decide to impersonate them. Huck is ashamed.

Chapters 25–30: They impersonate the brothers of a deceased peter wilks (Harvey and William) to steal his inheritance. A doctor accuses them for lying, but the sister defend them. Huck meets the Wilkes sisters and feels awful for what they’re doing. Huck, feeling guilty, takes the stolen money and hides it. King and Duke sell the slaves, the girls feel awful, and Huck uses them as scapegoats for stealing the money he hid.

Episode 6

A

Ch 31-43: Phelps farm and Jim’s rescue

Chapter 31: The king sells Jim to the Phelps family. Huck decides to rescue Jim, even if it means going to hell.​

Chapters 32–33: Huck arrives at the Phelps farm, where he’s mistaken for Tom Sawyer. When the real Tom arrives, he pretends to be his brother Sid.​

Chapters 34–39: Tom devises an elaborate plan to free Jim, filled with unnecessary complications.​

Chapters 40–42: During the escape, Tom is shot. Jim sacrifices his chance at freedom to help him. Eventually, it’s revealed that Jim has been freed in Miss Watson’s will.​

Chapter 43: Huck learns that his father has died and decides to head west to avoid being “sivilized” again.​
