What’s Engraving
A print made by cutting lines into a metal plate. Ink is placed into the lines and the paper and metal plate are out through a press to lift the ink out of the grooves.
What’s monoprint
A print that can only be produced once (“mono” comes from Geek and means single or one)
What’s Relief
A design that stands out from the surface flow which is cut
What’s Intaglio
A design is cut or carver into a surface, such as an engraving or etching
What’s Stencil
A piece of paper (or other material) with designs or letters cut out which can be painted or linked together to make the designs or letters appear on the paper (or other material)
What’s Planographic
Printing done from a smooth, plane surface. A stone was used to make a lithograph. The word “litho” is the Greek word for stone. These days aluminium plates are used instead of a stone.

Printing done from designs cut in relief on a block of linoleum
Woodcuts
Printing done from a block of wood with a smooth surface which is engraved
