Describe what the WEBBER A,B AND C Classification is ?
This is a description for distal fibula fractures.
What is Webber A ?
Fracture below the syndesmosis.
Usually transverse.
Sometimes can be an associated medial malleolus fracture.
Caused by inversion
What is Webber B ?
Usually an oblique fracture at the level of the syndesmosis.
Caused by inversion
What is Webber C ?
This is a fracture above the level of the syndesmosis.
Results from adduction pronation and external rotation.
What is a Webber C type injury associated with ?
A Maisonneuve injury and requires a whole tib/fib Xray to be done.
Also a posterior malleolus fracture
