1. NOT COLD (35C 95F)
2. OVER 18
3. NOT PREGNANT
4. Standard ALS have been undertaken
5. ASYSTOLE (or PEA) for at least 20 minutes (ALS TIME, not BLS, just when you start)
6. No reversible cause is evident
7. Med Control says OK

Question 2

What vital signs to consider dead? (aside from the other 3 trauma signs)

Answer 2

1. no resp 30 sec
2. No carotic pulse 30 sec
3. Lung Sounts abs 30 sec
4. Both pupils nonreactive

Question 3

What are the seven steps for patient refusal?

Answer 3

(do they have the capacity?)

1. The patient suggested
2. OVER 18 or emancipated
3. Oriented Person, Place, Time, situation
4. No sign of altered LOC
5. No alcohol/ drugs
6. No language barrier
7. No signs of suicide
