Boarding process (3.1.1) and flight crew
Responsibilities Pu during boarding process (3.1.1)
Cpt / delegate, or in their absence, Pu must check prior boarding (3.1.1)
Flight deck door must be closed and locked (3.1.1) for security reasons:
From the moment all external ac doors are closed (dep) and may be unlocked and opened when any external ac doors is opened (arr).
During disembarking pax, reqCC does not have to be onboard when Pu has ensured: (3.1.1)
Rapid disembarkation or emergency evacuation on the ground (3.1.2) inform:
Cabin doors (3.1.3)
Never open cabin door without boarding device or catering truck - because of the risk of falling out.
Cabin crew should avoid making normal cabin-flight calls during the following phases of high workloads: (3.1.8)
Departure:
Starts V-15
Ends fasten seat belt sign is off
Arrival:
Starts with CABIN CREW - CABIN CHECK FOR LANDING
Ends at engine shut town (seat belt sign off)
Normal and emergency cabin to flight deck calls are not allowed during following critical phases of flight: (3.1.8)
Interphone etiquette (3.1.9)
Cabin luggage to moved into the hold check following: (3.1.13)
Rules for CBBG (cabin baggage on additional seat) (3.1.13)
Seating CBBG (3.1.13)
Use of portable electronic devices by crew (3.1.15)
Crew member must switch off and stow their personal devices upon boarding ac.
- May only be used after arrival when all pax have disembarked and on board tasks have been completed
- may be used during in flight rest.
Briefing between cabin crew and flight crew (3.2.2)
Goal: to establish CRM, improve teamwork, to reduce errors (TEM)
Discuss: flight time / slot or tsat, tech issues, pax requiring special attention (DEPU/INAD), wx and routing
Ground handling phases is defined as: (3.2.6)
Pax age indication (3.3.2)
Adult = 12 or above
Child = 2 to 12 years old
Infant = under age 2.
Reseating prior TO (3.3.2)
Kept to an absolute minimum to avoid delays.
When reseating is inevitable prior TO, the new seat allocation shall be coordinated with gnd staff for load sheet processing.
Not required for reseating on the same row / swapping occupied seats.
Overwing exits (3.3.3)
Exit row seats should be occupied during taxiing, TO and landing by ABP - in case reseating is necessary this should be communicated to ground staff.
Unaccompanied Minor (UM) (3.3.5)
Children between 5-14 years who travel unaccompanied, but have UM service booked.
Seat next to UM needs to stay open, no able, preferable next to a female pax.
Ovens may only be used (3.1.16)
Hot cups/jugs may be used (3.1.16)
Flush away from liquids in cabin (3.1.16)
Cabin pre-flight check needs to be done (3.2.5)
When only a part of the cabin crew changes, only the new cabin crew member perform pre-flight checklist.
