What is an AAA?
Abdominal aortic aneurysm, a bulging of the abdominal aorta, possibly following weakening by high BP/atherosclerosis. Risk factors include hypertension, smoking, and diet.
Signs and symptoms of an AAA
Not necessarily detectable. May be a pulsating mass in the periumbilical region.
If dissected, drop in BP, and hypovolaemic shock symptoms.
Management of an AAA
Surgery.
