the large scale movement of air, controls the distribution of thermal energy across the Earths surface.

A

air has weight because of gravity
because of weight exerts pressure
as air is heated it expands = lower density + low air pressure
as temperatures vary (due to seasons), areas of high pressure and low pressure exist.
