Dual Engine Failure
1/ ENG START selectors (both) … FLT
2/ Thrust levers (both) … Idle
3/ FUEL CONTROL switches (both) … CUTOFF, then RUN
4/ IF engine appears stalled, OR EGT approaches the maximum EGT limit (960*c) of the Standby Engine Indicator:
– Repeat above step as needed.
Engine Limit OR Surge OR Stall
1/ A/T ARM switch … OFF
2/ Until engine indications stay within limits OR the thrust lever is at idle,
Thrust lever (affected side) … Confirm … Retard
(L, R) ENGINE FIRE OR Engine Severe Damage OR Separation
1/ A/T ARM switch … OFF
2/ Thrust Lever (affected side) … Confirm … Idle
3/ FUEL CONTROL switch (affected side) … Confirm … CUTOFF
4/ Engine fire switch (affected side) … Confirm … Pull
5/ IF the engine fire warning light is illuminated:
– Engine fire switch (affected side) … Rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second
– IF after 30 seconds the engine fire warning light stays illuminated:
—- Engine fire switch (affected side) … Rotate to the other stop and hold for 1 second
Aborted Engine Start
Condition: During a ground start, one or more of the following abort start conditions occur.
1/ FUEL CONTROL switch (affected side) … CUTOFF
Airspeed Unreliable
1/ Autopilot disengage switch … Push to disengage
2/ AT ARM switch … OFF
3/ FD switches (both) … OFF
4/ Set the following gear up pitch attitude and thrust:
Automatic Unlock (PAX)
1/ FLT DK DOOR lock selector … Rotate to DENY and hold for 1 second
UNSCHD STAB TRIM
1/ STAB TRIM CUT OUT switches (both) … CUT OUT
CABIN ALTITUDE or Rapid Depressurisation - PAX
1/ Don the oxygen masks.
2/ Establish crew communications
3/ Check cabin altitude and rate.
4/ IF the cabin altitude is uncontrollable:
—- PAX OXY switch … Push and hold for 1 second
– Emergency descent … Initiate
– Thrust Levers (both) … Idle
– Speedbrake … UP
—— Limit airspeed and avoid high manoeuvring loads.
– Transponder … 7700
– Descend to the lowest safe altitude OR 10,000 feet, whichever is higher.
Confirmed Actions
1/ Thrust Lever 2/ Fuel cutoff switch 3/ Engine or APU fire switch 4/ Cargo fire ARM switch 5/ IDG
CABIN ALTITUDE or Rapid Depressurisation - CARGO
1/ Don the oxygen masks.
2/ Establish crew communications
3/ IF occupants in main cargo compartment or lavatory:
4/ Check cabin altitude and rate.
4/ IF the cabin altitude is uncontrollable:
– Emergency descent … Initiate
– Thrust Levers (both) … Idle
– Speedbrake … UP
—— Limit airspeed and avoid high manoeuvring loads.
– Transponder … 7700
– Descend to the lowest safe altitude OR 10,000 feet, whichever is higher.
