March et al(2007)

Ethics?
Cognitive approach to therapy assume client is responsible for their disorder by faulty or irrational thinking.
This suggests that factors like social or situational are not taken under consideration.
Therefore it’s not very ethical because it doesn’t help the client if they get blamed, which may take other aspects of their lives to change in order.
Compared to psychosurgery?
CBT- used for wide range of disorders like schizophrenia and depression, has no side effect and has lasting improvements, while psychosurgery does have side effects which could affect the clients in the future.
