EMC IS THE ABILITY OF A DEVICE, EQUIPMENT, OR SYSTEM TO OPPERATE PROPERLY WITHIN AN ELECTRMAGNETIC ENVIRONMENTS WHERE SERVERAL EMI SOURCES ARE PRESENT.
ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE (EMI)
THE AMMOUNT OF ELECTROMAGNETIC EMISSIONS, EITHER RADIATED OR CONDUCTED, ORGIGINATING FROM A DEVICE, EQUIPMENT, OR SYSTEM THATT CAUSES INTERFERENCE WITH THE NORMAL OPERATION OF OTHER DEVICE OR SYSTEMS.
ELECTROMAGNETIC EMISSION
THE PHENOMENON BY WHICH ELETROMAGNETIC ENERGY EMANATES FROM A SOURCE. EMISSIONS CAN EITHER BE RADIATED OR CONDUCTED WHEN COUPLED INTO A GIVEN DISTRIBUTED CIRCUIT. SUCH EMISSIONDS CAN BE DIVIDED INTO TWO CATEGORIES: INTENTIONAL EMITTED SIGNALS AND UNINTENTIONAL EMISSIONMS.
ELECTROMAGNETIC IMMUNITY
THE ABLITY OF A DEVICE, EQUIPMENT, OR SYSTEM TO PERFORM WITHOUT DEGRAGATION IN THE PRESENCE OF AN ELECTROMAGNETIC DISTRUBANCE.
ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION (EMR)
RADIATION COMPOSED OF OSCILLATIING ELECTRICAL AND MAGNETIC FIELDS AND AND PROPAGATED THROUGH A MEDIUM.
ELECTROSTATICE DISCHARGE (ESD)
THE SUDDEN FLOW OF ELECTRICITY BETWEEN TWO ELECTRICALLY CHARGED OBJECTS CAUSED BY CONTACT.
GROUND LOOP
TWO PARALLEL PATHS THAT HAVE IDENTICAL CONDUCTIVE TEREMINATIONS TO TWO SEPERATE GROUNDING (EARHTING) REFERENCES.
RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE (RFI)
THE DEGRADATION OF A DESIRED SIGNAL AT THE RECEPTOR END CAUSED BY RADIO FREQUECY DISTURBANCE WITHIN THE RADIO FREQUENCY SYSTEM WHICH IS USUALLY COMPRISED IN THE FREQUENCY RANGE THAT INCLUDES LF, MF, HF, AND VHF.
