Deforming force
A force which the changes the size or shape of abody
Elasticity
If a body regains its original shape and size after the removal of a deforming force, it is called an cleastic body and its property is called elasticity.
Plasticity
If a body doesn’t regain its original size and shape even after the removal of a deforming force, it is called a plastic body and its property is called elasticity
Perfectly elastic body
A body which regains its size and shape completely and immediately after the removal of a deforming force.
Perfectly plastic body
A body which doesn’t show any tendency to regain its original shape and size after the removal of a deforming force.
Stress
The internal restoring force set up per unit area of a deformed body. Stress = force/area.
