ASA physical status
ASA 1 - normal, healthy pt
ASA 2 - pt w/ mild systemic disease, well controlled/no functional limitations (e.g., DM, HTN)
ASA 3 - pt w/ severe systemic disease, not well controlled/functional limitations (e.g., angina, severe COPD, uncontrolled HTN)
ASA 4 - pt w/ severe systemic disease that is a constant threat to life (e.g., CHF, unstable angina, advanced organ dysfunction)
ASA 5 - moribund, not expected to live w/o sx (e.g., ruptured AAA, PE, head injury w/ increased ICP)
ASA 6 - organ donor
E - emergency situation
