• Stage 0 = asymptomatic, bruit, aneurysm seen on PE
• Grade 1 = mild claudication pain
• Grade 2 = moderate intermittent claudication
• Grade 3 = severe intermittent claudication
• Grade 4 = ischemic rest pain
• Grade 5 = minor tissue loss (ischemic ulcer)
• Grade 6 = major tissue loss (gangrene)

ASA 2 - pt w/ mild systemic disease, well controlled/no functional limitations (e.g., DM, HTN)
ASA 3 - pt w/ severe systemic disease, not well controlled/functional limitations (e.g., angina, severe COPD, uncontrolled HTN)
ASA 4 - pt w/ severe systemic disease that is a constant threat to life (e.g., CHF, unstable angina, advanced organ dysfunction)
ASA 5 - moribund, not expected to live w/o sx (e.g., ruptured AAA, PE, head injury w/ increased ICP)
ASA 6 - organ donor
