The development of the cold war began with the difference of Duplicity in Soviet union and Capitalism in US. It was also a race to become the worlds greatest Super Power, and Nuclear country. The cold war continued to get worse with the Zones in Germany.

The US influence in the west was mainly through the Zones of Berlin, Airlift, Marshall Plan, Truman Doctrine, and the US containment policy which all led to the establishment of NATO in 1949. The NATO included all members besides the Soviet Union.

A

A very close situation where the world almost got encompassed in nuclear war. Started by U.S. putting nuclear missiles in Turkey for defense, Soviet Union responded by putting nuclear missiles in Cuba. Negotiations eventually started up again between Khrushchev and Kennedy, getting rid of the tensions.

The Treaty of Rome was a treaty that the six nations in the ECSC signed making the EEC, European Economic Community, which made a free trading space for all of the six countries causing all of there economies to expand and do better.

After the war many people were able to buy consumer goods like televisions, radios, and other machines since they were cheaper and since food was cheaper, this also caused mass leisure because jobs became shorter from 60 hours a week to 40 hours a week made people have more free time to have fun with sports or games, or other activities.

The European Welfare States gave people money to help support there children and also gave health care to old people as well as everyone else since the Welfare States goal was to get rid of homelessness and get ride of poverty by supporting people.

After WWII women left the work force and returned home to there "traditional" jobs since the men coming home from the war needed jobs, this caused a baby boom but didn't last long due to the use of more birth control items.
