Mar 1949- Kim asked USSR to help invade south. Stalin didn’t want to fight US and encouraged China to help
Kim invaded, US asked UN for ceasefire and UN demanded Kim’s forces withdraw
UN forces lead by US supported Rhee, war became a stalemate
