Q

The content that appears on dashboards is targeted to the specific user and their business need. For this reason, dashboards consist of various components.

A

A component is a frame of content that appears in a certain location on a Radar dashboard. Different components give different dashboards their own appearance in addition to providing the tools and information users need to accomplish their workflows.

Q

Dashboards are composed of records in two master files:

A

Dashboard (IDM): The dashboard record is where you construct the screen that pulls in information for a group of users. You also define who is allowed to access the dashboard.
Components (IDB): Component records are a unit of content within a dashboard.

Q

There are several different types of components you can build for dashboards:

Link: Displays a set, static list of links to Hyperspace activities, reports, SlicerDicer sessions, networked folders and files, and URLs outside of Hyperspace.
Report Listing: Displays links to all of a user’s favorite reports, with the added ability to run and edit Reporting Workbench reports. Can also be configured to search the system for reports which have specified tags, creating a dynamic list of reports.

Message Board: Allows listed users to post messages to users’ dashboards
Graph: Displays a visual summary of data in the form of a bar graph, line graph, or pie graph. These components can use Reporting Workbench reports or code templates as a source.
Table: Displays a table of summary information from a Reporting Workbench report or a code template. The rows and cells in these components can change color as metrics pass pre-defined thresholds. It is possible to link to other activities from these components.

A

Native HTML: A component that uses a code template as a source. These are capable of displaying a variety of information for cases when the data does not conform exactly to the formats defined by the other component types. You are also able to use a Native HTML component to embed data (such as a website or document) directly within a user’s dashboard.
Epic also releases special components like In Basket Glance, Schedule Glance and Patient List Glance. These components show a quick summary of Epic activities within a dashboard.

Set the Dashboard Layout

The Content form controls the number and position of regions that organize the components in your dashboard. In this section, specify the width of each region, whether each region has a header and a background color, and whether the region header should display a name.

A

Choose the Content form.
If needed, expand the options for Layout Settings.
The Layout setting determines how you can arrange the components of the dashboard.
Choose a few different layouts to see how the preview changes.
When you are done exploring, choose the “Two Columns” layout.
Select the Group components checkbox.
This option allows you to put several components together into a single group with one name.
If you want each component to appear as its own box with its own name, you would leave this checkbox clear.
Add the following Region Names for two groups of components:
Line 1: Operational
Line 2: Analysis

Q

Add Content to the Dashboard

The Components section of the Content form is where you specify the individual components that will comprise your dashboard, as well as the regions in which those components will appear.

A

Add the following Components to your dashboard:
MR Schedule Glance (33515)
WM Dashboard In Basket Glace (33510)
Set the Region to “Operational” for both components.
This region is coming from the groups you set up on the Layout form.
Radar is able to filter the data displayed to the user based on component parameters. If a dashboard includes components with parameters, those parameters are configured in the dashboard record’s Parameters section. If an administrator enables a parameter for interactive display, end users can select parameters to further personalize a component or dashboard.
