What is TACP?
Tactical Air Control Party
The principal air liaison unit collocated with ground forces. 2 primary missions:
- advise GFC of capabilities and limitations of air operations

What is a JTAC?
Joint Terminal Attack Controller
A certified and qualified individual with the authority to control the maneuvre of and grant weapon release clearance to attacking A/C.

What is an ALO?
Senior TACP member attached to a ground unit who functions as the primary advisor to the GFC on air Ops.
What is a GLO?
Ground Liaison officer.
The primary ground officer assigned to air commanders staff. They provide advice and information on all matters pertaining to ground operations to enable more effective air planning in support of ground ops.

Not needed to see A/C and all targets. Measures are put in effect to reduce risk and allowing for multiple attacks within a single engagement.
