Q

What is a bolus and epiglottis?

A

16
Q

What does the Carbohydrates do?

A

Digest respective disaccharides into monosaccharides

17
Q

What is intestinal absorption?

A

Nutrients absorption though the walls they travel to capillars, circulatory carries nutrients to the cells

18
Q

What is a villi and microvilli

A

It covers folds and increases SA to maximize absorption.

19
Q

What other parts are in the small intestine

A

Epithelium and capillars

20
Q

The mesentery, what is it?

A

Something that helps attach the small intestine to the abdominal wall

21
Q

Name all of the parts of the large intestine

A

Caecum, Ileocecal, ascending colon, transverse colon, decending colon, sigmoid colon, rectum, teniae coli, fat tags, appendix

22
Q

What is the main function?

A

Absorb water, 90% is absorbed and taken back to the blood

23
Q

What are some other functions?

A

Billions of good bacteria that break down undigested food ad material, K n B and folic acid gets absorbed into the bloodstream. Leftovers become feces which gets pushed into the rectum.

24
Q

What is the appendix

A

Organ that has a large amount of good bacteria, and immune function in adults

25
Name ALL of the digestive organs
Oral cavity, salivary glands, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, anus, liver, gall bladder and pancreas.
