First step to DNA replication
DNA unzips- DNA is catalysed by DNA helicase and results in two strands with exposed nucleotide bases
Second step to DNA replication
Free nucleotides in the nucleoplasm bind to the exposed strands with the help of DNA polymerase. which catalyses the nucleotides in the 5’ to 3’ direction.
what does primase do?
primase makes primer out of RNA so DNA polymerase knows where to start.
Third step to DNA replication
What is semi conservative replication?
when each of the two DNA molecule after replication contain one of the original strand and a copy.
