Framework that sets out standards to improve the quality of new homes and customer service by developers, ensuring transparency and protection for buyers through:
* Clear and honest information during the buying process
* High standards of build quality and aftercare
* Access to the New Homes Ombudsman Scheme for dispute resolution and redress
Health and Safety at Work Act (1974)
Primary UK legislation that ensures the health, safety, and welfare of people at work.
It sets out:
* Employers’ duties to protect employees and others from harm;
* Employees’ responsibilities to cooperate and act safely;
* Enforcement powers of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

RICS Professional Standard: Surveying Safely (2nd edition, November 2018)
Professional guidance that sets out the health and safety principles and responsibilities expected of RICS members and regulated firms.
It governs how surveying professionals should manage health, safety, and welfare risks in all aspects of their work, ensuring compliance with legal duties such as the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
It sets out:
* RICS members’ responsibilities to identify, assess, and manage risks;
* Procedures for safe lone and site working;
* Requirements for training, competence, and emergency planning;
* Expectations for creating a positive health and safety culture.
Health and Safety Executive
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is the UK’s national regulator for workplace health and safety.
It governs the enforcement of health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated regulations.

Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) (2002)

It governs how organisations, employers, and service providers must treat people fairly, prohibiting discrimination, harassment, and victimisation based on protected characteristics.
It sets out:
* Nine protected characteristics, including age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion, sex, and sexual orientation;
* The public sector equality duty;
* Requirements for reasonable adjustments in workplaces and services;

Human Rights Act 1998
Incorporates the European Convention on Human Rights into UK law, protecting fundamental rights and freedoms.
