``` • Upon firing button pressed: • The thermal battery initiated 0.2 --.05 sec • Missile gyro initiated • Missile electronics begin • Nozzle spoiler activation • Release of missile lock • Ignition of launch motor • Leads ripped off missile (EP1 interface) • After 5mm movement shackle unit released • Recoil motors ignite (reducing recoil) • Missile leaves launch tube • Wings unfold and lock into position • Two wing switches close circuit • Ignition impulse to ignite Sustainer motor • Sustainer motor fires • 7 G’s acceleration closes SAD circuit • SAD stepper motor aligns firing train • EP3 detector tracks transmitter beam • EP1 analyses transmitter strength and provides course corrections to the rudders through the rudder mechanism • Missile closes with target • Detection and functioning • as per PROX mode Functioning - Off, Normal, Small Target ```

Launch events sequence
- Gunner attaches CLU to the LTA - Forward end cap removed - Target acquired, either with optics or the Thermal Imaging (TI) sight - Gunner activates missile seeker by pulling left trigger on CLU - After approximately 9.5 secs the missile seeker cools down - Flight software data is downloaded and missile becomes operational - Once missile is operational infrared imagery from seeker is viewed by gunner through CLU - Tracker software data downloaded from CLU to missile - Gunner then positions track gates to specify the target portion of the seeker image - Target maybe engaged either by DA or OTA - On completion of target lock on gunner depresses CLU fire trigger - Depression of trigger fires missile restraint pin squib to fire - On successful completion of pre launch tests software issues command to fire launch motor - Overpressure from LM opens aft membrane and propels missile forward - Forward motion fractures forward seal and severs umbilical cable and gas line interfaces Missile continues along LTA until missile wings and fins clear the LTA - Once clear of LTA and confirmation of correct launch, missile software issues command to ignite FM - Warhead is armed following safe separation distance from operator determined by CESAF module - Seeker and tracker software continues to track target to impact without intervention by gunner
