Q

What could have been done differently in your team collaboration processes and how do you expect that it would have changed your team collaboration?

How do you expect that this will help you in your professional work life?

A

Tuckman’s Stages of Group Development, we kind of skipped the storming phase - due to language barrier and not wanting to step on each others toes. In the end we voiced the option more = more like storming. = performing.

We could have structured our collaboration more clearly from the beginning, for example by agreeing on fixed roles, expectations and deadlines instead of assuming that everyone had the same understanding of the task.

Finally, we could have talked more openly about different working styles and coping strategies with stress, and used that actively when planning our timeline.

collaboration feel more predictable and fair, because responsibilities and expectations were more transparent despite a project with a wicked problem.

a professional context, the ability to clarify roles, expectations and deadlines early is essential for avoiding conflicts and inefficiency in cross‑disciplinary teams. The experience also shows how important it is to combine task focus with attention to colleagues’ well‑being, which is central when working in environments with high performance demands and risk of stress.
The Project Triangle - ressources/quaility, time and cost.

Q

How can we reflect on and adjust our team collaboration
and project management
processes, and what
alternative approaches
should we hypothesise about to further
strengthen our future work

A

Reflect on our collaboration by comparing what we actually did with relevant theories and with the concrete course and project experiences. For example, Tuckman’s model shows that we stayed too long in a polite, pseudo‑norming phase and only had a real storming phase at the end, which suggests an adjustment: making time early for discussing expectations, roles (commander, peacekeeper, timekeeper etc.) and how we will handle disagreement.

We should have used project management tools like Gantt effectively and roles to keep track on the project. We applied many tools and ending up not using them too effectively

A

We can reflect on our collaboration by comparing what we actually did with relevant theories and with the concrete course and project experiences

  • Tuckman’s model: norming - stormning - preforming ..

iterative process where insights from trend analysis, survey and interviews with stakeholders like Mikkel Sørensen, Winnie and Lasse continuously changed our understanding. Reflecting on this, we can adjust by combining this necessary iteration with simple structure: clear phase goals (explore – analyse – ideate – test), regular reflection checkpoints and visual timelines, so uncertainty is manageable instead of chaotic

  • rotate roles - according to (data, analysis, concept) = more voices and ideas to some. A practise room.

Q

Did your team see any patterns in how you used the different tools to reflect and collaborate?

A

We had many good ideas and very aware of eachother well being, but lacked structure throughout the project and excution.
Project triangle - quality, cost, time - we lacked time due to other projects.

Q

Thinking about the collaboration tools your team used, how well did you use them, and do you see any patterns in how you used them?

A

We used collaboration tools well for clarifying roles and sharing knowledge, but not fully for fostering deep dialogue and early storming. We often introduced tools once, rather than revisiting them regularly as the project evolved.

EX: used the roles more OR GANTT or compence triangle

Q

What has your team done to ensure successful team collaboration and what processes did you use?

A

We mapped our competences and roles, agreed to be aware of strong commander tendencies, and used regular meetings and shared online documents to coordinate tasks and data.

We used logbook to write down agreements and the process. Helped us get an overview.

Q

What was important about how your team worked together?

A

It was important that we respected each other’s different academic and cultural backgrounds and tried to give space for everyone, even if it sometimes slowed us down. This helped create a safe atmosphere to work with a very sensitive topic like youth mental distress.
We used each others strengths - ex some were good at conducting interview etc. Good at being aware.

Q

Which team collaboration tools have worked the best and the worst in your teamwork, and how did project management help to the project on track?

A

Best: role/competence mapping and regular meetings, which gave clarity and kept the project moving.

Structure: We tried GANTT, but due to the iterative nature of the project, it were hard to effectively use it. It created a unstructured process. It affected the project triangle in terms of time.

Q

What did your group do to improve teamwork?

A

We openly discussed our different roles (e.g. two commanders) and agreed to be aware of not dominating, and we actively encouraged quieter members to contribute more over time.

Did weather forecast every meeting and logged it. created an overview and how to be sensitive

Knowlegde sharing = gives us insight to see the others, aswell learning

Q

Why did you use the tools you have chosen for collaboration?

A

We chose them because they are simple, help visualise differences in roles and competences, and fit an interdisciplinary group with different backgrounds and levels of English.
