Windshear Conditions

A

Unacceptable flight path deviations, recognized as uncommanded changes from normal steady state flight conditions below 1,000 feet AGL in excess of any of the following conditions:

a. 15 knots indicated airspeed.
b. 500 fpm vertical speed.
c. 5° pitch attitude.
d. One dot displacement from the glideslope.
e. Unusual thrust lever position for a significant period of time.

  6. Outflow VALVE switch - Hold in OPEN until the outflow VALVE position indicates fully open (CP)

  8. Engine start levers/FUEL CONTROL switches (both) - CUTOFF (P)
  9. Engine and APU fire switches (all) - Override and pull (P)
  10. Advise the cabin to evacuate (CP)

Note When lowering the airstair on battery power, extension will take longer.

Fire APU

  1. Choose one:
    a. INSIDE the aircraft:
    (1) APU fire switch - Pull, rotate to the stop until BOTTLE DISCHARGE illuminates (ACW)
    (2) APU switch - OFF (ACW)
    b. OUTSIDE the aircraft:
    (1) APU fire control handle - Pull down (ACW)
    (2) BOTTLE DISCHARGE switch - Push left (ACW)

Upset Recovery conditions

A

An aircraft upset as defined by one or more of the following occurring:

  1. Any stall indication (including buffet or stick shakers).
  2. The aircraft pitch attitude is unintentionally more than 25° nose high.
  3. The aircraft pitch attitude is unintentionally more than 10° nose low.
  4. The aircraft bank angle is unintentionally greater than 65°.
  5. Within above parameters but flying at airspeeds/attitudes inappropriate for the conditions.

Prohibited Operations

A
  1. Intentional spins, stalls, aerobatics, steep dives (not associated with an Emergency Descent), or maneuvers resulting in abrupt accelerations.
  2. Use of auto land.
  3. Load factor greater than 2.0 g’s with asymmetric thrust.
  4. Holding and on-station mission operations in icing with flaps extended.
  5. Use of Mission Limit Mode.
  6. Uninterrupted rudder deflections across the neutral position (commonly referred to as rudder reversals). Approximately zero sideslip and yaw must be established at neutral rudder.
  7. Rapid rudder check or rapid release to neutral after abrupt rudder input.
  8. Alternating control inputs, especially in combination with large changes in pitch, roll, or yaw (e.g., large sideslip angles).
  9. Uninterrupted rapid wheel inputs across the neutral position at roll rates greater than 10 degrees per second.
  10. Inflight auxiliary fuel transfer functions FWD > AFT and AFT > FWD, except to prevent or correct a cg limit exceedance.
  11. Flight beyond stick shaker or initial buffet (whichever occurs first).
  12. Intentional single engine or simulated single engine maneuvers, except as required for an FCF.
  13. Use of tactical fuel flow margin.

Airspeed Unreliable or IAS Disagree Conditions
Airspeed Unreliable: The pitch attitude is not consistent with the phase of flight, altitude, thrust and weight, or noise or low frequency buffeting is experienced. IAS DISAGREE: Indicates the pilot's and copilot's airspeed indications disagree by more than 5 knots for 5 continuous seconds.

Failure to achieve the appropriate airspeed may limit N2 preventing a successful restart.
