• informed consent = making sure participants know the aim of the experiment and have the right to withdraw
• Deception = deliberately withholding information
• Protection from harm = participants should not be put at risk
• Privacy and confidentiality = our right to have data protected and control information about ourselves

• following the BPS code of ethics
• for informed consent = ensure participants or their parents sign consent letters and have all relevant information
• Protection from harm and deception = debriefing participants , given the right to withhold data and providing counselling
  Confidentiality = mantaining anonymity and using initials.
