Right to withdrawal
Participants must be informed they can leave the study at any point they wish and have no obligation to give. Reason if they do. They can also pull their data out at any point after the research before it gets released.
Informed consent
Participants must be briefed on the objectives of the investigation and what is required of them if they take part.
Confidentiality
Participants should remain anonymous so no data can be identified as theirs.
Deception
Generally the participant should not be mislead however, sometimes participants shouldn’t be aware of the true aims. If this is the case the participant should been given a brief.
Protection of participants
The participant are not caused by any long term psychical or mental damage. They need to ensure the participant leaves in the same mental and psychical state
Offer support if harm was caused.
Debriefing
Get told the true motivations behind the study and clarify any misunderstandings. Ensure they have not suffered any long term effects
