Q

Give me the flow of the PA fans

A

Suction from FD then to inlet damper - outlet
- 1 line taps off to the feeder sealing air
- on the next line ( a line that runs to sootblower cooling air)
- same line to mixing station as cold air
- Same line to primary air heaters then to mixing station
- Hot and cold air control dampers
- Then to venturi
- 2 lines on east and west going to mill A B C D for drying and transport of of

11
Q

Give me the flow of the Fd fans

A
  • Takes suction from the atmosphere through a wire mesh preventing plastics and debris then goes to the outlet damper- secondary air heaters- venturi- secondary control dampers x 8 ( 2 at 10.7 ladder and 2 behind venturi on each side)then to windbox - furnace
12
Q

Give me the standby of the ID Fans

A

Standby

  • Drain valves closed
  • Vane air piston on minimum limit postion
  • Fan shaft not rotating
  • Motorized inlet damper is closed on remote
  • Guilotine damper remote and closed
  • Guiltine damper is on the top physically
  • Fan manhole closed
  • All stop buttons of cooling air fan and ID fan released ( 2 and 1)
  • Motor and fan bearing vibrations reset
  • Motor bearing oil level is 75%
  • Lube oil system tank oil level is 75%
13
Q

The Standby of the lube oil system of the fans

A

The oil pressure controller is on remote and at 150 kpa set point
Inlet and outlet valve of pump is open
isolating valve to bearings are open
The oil level of the tank is 75%

13
Q

Give me the running checks of the ID fans

A

No oil leaks
RVC damper links not loose
Safety guards are tight
No abnormal bearing temperatures
No abnormal bearing vibration

14
Q

Give me the shutdown and isolation of the ID fans

A
  • Instruction from panel
  • Push stop buttons in
  • Inlet and outlet dampers closed
15
Q

What will happen without ID Fans

A
  • Less steam produced
  • No way to get rid of the ash and gasses
16
Q

The commissioning of the Lube oil system

A
  • Comission oil cooler fan on at the control panel local
  • No oil leaks
  • Pressure of oil is 150 kpa
  • Both pumps on auto- then switch off the pump will auto kickstart standby pump- then switch back to auto
17
Q

What are the normal temperatures of the bearings of the fans

A

40-65 degrees

17
What are the normal running checks of the lube oil system
Oil level at 75% Oil pressure at 150 kpa No oil leaks
18
What is the abnormal temperatures of the fans
70 degrees
19
What is the normal vibrations and abnormal of the ID Fans ?
40- 80 microns and abormal is 150 and above
20
What is the normal vibrations and abnormal of the FD
40- 60 and 120 and above
21
What is the low low level of tank
30%
21
What is the normal vibrations and abnormal of the PA
40- 50 and 100
22
what is the low level of the tank
70%
23
What are some of the issues of the lube oil system ?
Oil leak on system - bearings damaged - Report to panel Oil temp high - Cooling air fan on, filter IC and heater switched off Low level resovior/ low low - call for top up - Report to spc Diffirential pressure high - change filters Low pressure - Check set point 150 kpa - Check isolating valve is open Bonus: Check inlet and outlet valve is open
24
What are some of the problems of the FD and PA fans ?
- Oil leak on system- make sure sump level is 75% - Oil leak from bearings- Make sure bearing drain valve is closed - Oil temp too high- Make sure cooling water inlet and outlet are open
25
Give the Standby of the FD / PA fans
Drains are closed Stop buttons released manholes closed RVC is on minimum Motorized outlet damper is remote and closed Fan shaft is not rotating Oil levels are at a standing level
26
Give the normal running checks of the FD and PA fans
- No oil leaks - RVC damper links not loose - Safety guards are tight - No abnormal bearing temperatures - No abnormal bearing vibrations
27
What are some of the emergencies of PA and FD fans ?
- Damper links broke - Abnormal temperatures and vibrations
