ductus arteriosus
shunts left over blood from pulmonary artery to aorta
ductus venosus
blood returning from placenta via umbilical vein is rerouted to inferior vena cava (skips liver)
umbilical veins
carry blood toward the fetus
umbilical arteries
carry blood away from fetus
