FBW Normal Mode: Ground Controls
1- Full authority elevator control
2- Pitch rate damping
3- Yaw damping engaged at 70kts
4- Conventional horizontal stabilizer trim control
FBW Normal Mode: Ground Protections
1- Nose gear loading- automatically applies nose down elevator on takeoff to 90 knots
2- Nose up pitch limited to 17 degrees on rotation
3- Tail strike protection reduces risk of tail strike by reducing pitch rate
4- Stick shaker becomes available after 60 knots
What is the soft stop?
Soft stop is used to provide tactile cue at the edge of the operational envelope.
What does the hard stop do?
The hard stop allows limited safe excursion outside the normal operational envelope.
What does the pitch protection provide?
Pitch protection provides over speed and high angle-of-attack protection.
Nose up pitch limit is 30 degrees.
Speed below 130 knots, pitch attitude reduced to 26 degrees.
Speed below 95 knots, pitch reduced to 18 degrees.
Nose down pitch limit: -20 degrees.
On the ground, upper pitch limit is set to 17 degrees.
Nose Landing Gear Loading
Sidestick in neutral, the elevator is set to 12 degrees ND up to 80 knots, and decreases to zero degrees by 90 knots.
What is FBW protection based on?
Based on aircraft configuration and side-stick position, soft or hard stop.
Protection provides automatic
