Tip of the tongue is by the lower front teeth. Body is bunched and shift a bit forward to be flattened by alveolar ridge and grooved along its midline. Makes contact with upper ridge laterally

The airflow is channeled through the grove of the tongue against the upper alveolar ridge and front teeth creating turbulence and friction for phonation
