and Triggers
Shallow ant. chamber
Thickened lens due to old age
Trabecular meshwork blockage
Triggers: TCA, SSRI, pupillary dilators, ipratropium
Symptoms
Painful red eye
Blurred vision (halo around centre)
Headache
Naud vomiting
Investigation
Slit lamp for intraoccular testing
Examine eye for cloudiness due to oedema.
Pupil can be fixed oval shape.
Palpate eye which will be hard.
Management
Acetazolamide
Pilocarpine (opens up trabecular meshwork)
Steroid eye and mannitol if above does not work.
Further management is Laser Peripheral Iridotomy.
