Q

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

A

Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks, for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

One day, one Thessalonian was walking home after a long day in the fields.
He was tired, dusty, and worried about his harvest.

As he passed a small stone house, he heard voices inside. Five believers were praying together.

A 16-year-old girl lifted her head and said softly,
“Rejoice always.”

An 18-year-old boy followed, his voice steady,
“Pray without ceasing.”

An older woman smiled through tears and added,
“In all circumstances give thanks.”

An elderly man placed his hand over his heart,
“For this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.”

The fifth believer whispered,
“1 Thessalonians 5:16–18.”

The man outside closed his eyes.
He repeated their words as he walked home,
and by the time he reached his door, his heart was lighter.
He had learned something that day —
joy, prayer, and gratitude can live even in hard times.
