What is high performance NOT about?
What is one key differentiator between high performers and others?
They’re better learners. They absorb and apply information quickly – this allows them to advance quicker.
To achieve High Performance, you need to become comfortable with these 5 rules?
What is “Honor the Struggle”?
According to Brendon it means – The next level of mastery is becoming comfortable with the uncomfortable.
What does “Honor the Struggle” mean to you, Brie?
Recognizing that there will be times, many times where what I want to achieve will be hard. Really hard.
For me, to honor the struggle means to trust that I am capable of doing what it takes & becoming who it takes to achieve my intended goal or envisioned result.
What is “Judge After Routine, Not Contemplation”?
When given a challenge most people resist and become defensive. Sometimes it’s their ego flaring up and other times it’s an impulse to say, “Nah, that won’t work for me.” – so they don’t even try.
Brendon suggest not judging ideas based on whether or not you immediately connect with the idea based on your past, circumstances, current reality or what you think you know about the world.
Be like a High Performer – someone who’s more like a mini scientist, testing and trying things.
What does “Judge After Routine, Not Contemplation” mean to you, Brie?
To me this means when receiving advice from someone who’s where I want to be, it’s ultra important that I’m open to consistently trying their suggestions before I say, “That’s not for me.”
There have been so many times where I’ve shut down ideas. Not because of who they’re coming from but because I lacked belief in myself to achieve similar or better results.
I didn’t believe in me so I didn’t believe in the idea. I realize now that there will be many times where I simply need to trust the advice of my mentors before I trust the doubting voice in my head.
What are the 2 things Brendon says about “No Short-term Thinking?”
What does “No Short-term Thinking” mean to you, Brie?
This is super powerful. I felt its’ truth when Brendon shared that my problems are most likely from short-term thinking.
He’s right and it’s something I never thought about until he spoke it. This makes me want to rethink a lot of my habitual reactions to things that keep perpetuating in my life.
What is “Flow” within High Performance?
It’s measuring where you are throughout the day and asking yourself questions like, “Did my best self show up sometime today?”
What does “Flow” mean to you, Brie? Give 2 examples.
What does Brendon say about “Ambition sucks without a calendar”? Give examples.
What does “Ambition sucks without a calendar” mean to you, Brie?
Everything. Literally, everything. It makes perfect sense that if it’s not on a calendar, it’s probably not going to happen.
For my dream to be scheduled, to me, is showing that I’m for real about it. I’m serious. I’m dedicated. I’m committed to making it happen, one 50 min. block at a time.
