Treatment of hypoglycaemia

Answer 1

If able encourage pt to eat and drink
use 40% glucose gel if no alternative
if pt unable to eat/drink gain IV access and administer IV glucose
if no IV access available administer IM glucagon
continue to treat until above 4mmol/L
