What is ABLTS?

A self-contained fuel and water system capable of deploying 10,000ft of 6in fuel hose or 4in water hose line from a designated ship to an ABLTS BIU ashore.

Location planning considerations for ABLTS

• The hose is buoyant and represents a navigational hazard. Must be located clear of the beach approach lanes.
• Site survey prior to deployment of ABLTS needed to consider: water depth, bottom type, beach gradient, tidal range, currents, surf conditions, location on BUI, and beach obstructions/type. Survey done by UCT.

6. Air test at 150psi using the ship’s air
7. Inspect for leaks
8. Ship’s Chief Mate controls pumping OPS
9. Purge lines using the pig launcher
