Assessing the psychological effects of segregation on Black children in the US: first quantitative study on systemic racism
* Awareness of racial differences → children were able to differentiate
between “coloured” and white dolls
* Racial self-identification was not as accurate, but still evident: 1/3 of black children chose white doll as representing them
* Majority of kids assigned positive attributes to white doll and negative attributes to Black doll → stability differed based on age
