• Fulcrum/ Axis: lateral epicondyle of the femur
• Proximal Arm: lateral midline of the femur; greater trochanter for reference
• Distal Arm: lateral midline of the fibula; lateral malleolus and fibular head for reference

• Patient position and goniometer alignment is the same as for knee flexion. Place towel under ankle to allow for knee hyperextension
• Normal End Feel: Firm
• To measure the knee at end range of extension, one hand should apply a downward pressure on the anterior distal femur, just proximal to the knee.
